I love writing. I'm a mom, wife and sci-fi fan. I also have a shoe addiction that rivals Carrie Bradshaw without the disposable income so support said addiction. Between holding a full time job, coming home to my wonderful daughter, Agatha (not her real name) and husband Wilber (not his real name) and that whole home ownership thing I sometimes feel like I'm loosing my mind. Sometimes one needs a space to share their thoughts and grumbles in order to stay sane.
I started a tumblr, 42 and Some Bananas, but sometimes a woman has more to say than just sharing an image or a quote.
Here are some other fun tidbits about me:
Wonder Woman is my favorite comic book character, and I have a collection of that goes back to the 1970s. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman is amazing and as a little girl I watched the show and would run around the house in my Wonder Woman underoos fighting all sorts of villainous types. No there are not pictures, thankfully Instagram did not exist back then. However, I am extremely displeased with the direction that DC comics has taken Wonder Woman in their most recent relaunch, so much so that I've stopped collecting the comics. Hopefully things will return to the right direction, until then I'm starting to explore some of the other great female comic book characters.
At age five I found a VHS tape in my parents collection that was labeled "Aliens." For some unexplainable reason I thought it was a cartoon. Yeah. Not. So. Much. My mother found me and hour later sitting on the couch with my eyes big a saucers watching Ripley kick some serious Alien ass. This in no way diminished my love of sci-fi.
One of my favorite books is North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. I also love the BBC miniseries based on the book with Richard Armitage. It’s on Netflix. If you like English romances…watch it.
I love animals. I always wanted the Dr. Dolittle ability to speak to them. If an animal gets injured or killed in a film, I'm done. I have a hard time watching nature shows. Including ones about extinct species.
